Since then, the neighborhood has been home to butchers, brawlers, bakers and brewers, artists, artisans, distillers, tanners, orphans and families. Bounded by the mighty Ohio to the north and lovely Beargrass Creek to the east, the current Butchertown renaissance has made it the “Brooklyn of Louisville.”
