Cabin Still was a respected wheated bourbon brand produced by the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery from 1935 through the late 1960s. Once a Pappy Van Winkle-era staple known as the "sportsman's choice," it was often a 5-6 year old bourbon featuring, at times, wildlife-themed decanters. Tax strip 1961-1977, 4/5 Quart at 90 Proof. During the "Golden Era" (pre-1972) under the Van Winkle family, Cabin Still was a high-quality wheated bourbon. Unlike traditional bourbons that use rye as a secondary grain, Stitzel-Weller used wheat, resulting in a softer, sweeter profile.
