Midleton Very Rare 2016 (700ml) 80 Proof (40% ABV) is a technical annual vintage release from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. This expression is a marriage of triple-distilled single pot still and single grain whiskeys, each matured for a minimum of 12 years and up to 33 years.

Maturation occurs in hand-selected, lightly charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels, which facilitate a slow extraction of vanillin and toasted wood sugars. The resulting chemical profile is defined by vibrant notes of citrus peel, green apple, and barley sugar, which integrate with deep layers of cracked black pepper and succulent pot still spice. The light, elegant presentation maintains a silky mouthfeel with a lingering, floral finish.
